Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the best time of year to take this Germany by Train tour?

May, June, September and early October are particularly pleasant, with generally mild temperatures and good conditions for sightseeing. Summer offers longer daylight hours, while December brings Germany's traditional Christmas markets. The tour is available year-round, although some outdoor activities and Rhine cruises are seasonal.

  • How far in advance should I book this private Germany tour?

We recommend booking four to six months in advance, particularly for travel between May and September. Popular hotels and attractions, including Neuschwanstein Castle, can sell out early. Booking ahead also provides a better choice of first-class train services and preferred travel dates.

  • What happens to our luggage when travelling between cities?

You will travel with your luggage on Germany's intercity trains, which provide designated luggage storage areas. Private transfers between railway stations and hotels are arranged for your convenience. Additional luggage assistance can be requested when planning your journey.

  • What happens if a train is delayed or cancelled?

Germany has an extensive railway network, but delays and cancellations can occasionally occur. Alternative train services are generally available on major routes. Revigorate can assist with adjusting your travel arrangements and coordinating onward transfers if disruption affects your journey.

  • How physically demanding is this Germany tour?

The tour involves moderate walking through historic city centres, castles and museums, sometimes on cobbled streets or uneven surfaces. Certain attractions, particularly in the Bavarian Alps and Saxon Switzerland, involve steps and sloping paths. The programme can be adapted to suit different mobility levels, although some historic sites have accessibility limitations.

  • Can we extend our stay or customise the itinerary?

Yes. As a private tour, the itinerary can be adapted to your interests, preferred pace and available time. You may wish to extend your stay in Berlin or Munich, include additional cultural experiences or add destinations elsewhere in Germany. Revigorate can create a personalised itinerary around your requirements.

  • Are there any additional costs we should budget for?

Beyond the agreed tour price, you should allow for meals not specified as included, drinks, personal expenses and optional activities. Some attractions may also have supplementary admission charges. Your personalised quotation will clearly outline the services and experiences included in your booking.

  • Why book your private Germany by Train tour with Revigorate?

Revigorate specialises in tailor-made private journeys, combining carefully selected accommodation, first-class rail travel and knowledgeable local guides. We take care of the planning and coordination, from hotel reservations and train connections to private excursions and transfers, creating a seamless journey tailored to your interests, preferences and travel style.
