Things to Do in Montreux: 3-Day Itinerary

Montreux doesn’t just sit pretty on the edge of Lake Geneva, it steals the show.

With the Alps as its dramatic backdrop and vineyards rolling like natural artwork, this town effortlessly blends laid-back luxury with a dash of old-world charm. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down just to soak it all in.

This isn’t some sleepy lakeside village. Montreux has personality: from legendary jazz festivals to castle ruins, it’s a playground for culture lovers and nature seekers alike. Think of Montreux as that effortlessly cool friend who’s as comfortable hosting a sophisticated wine tasting as they are leading you on a spontaneous adventure up the slopes. It’s elegant without being stuffy, vibrant without being overwhelming. Montreux is simply a perfectly balanced masterpiece.

To make sure you don’t miss a beat, we’ve put together a 3-day itinerary that hits all the high notes. Tie your shoelaces and get ready to fall in love with Montreux.

Day 1

Morning: Promenade sur les quais de Montreux

If Montreux had a runway, the Promenade sur les quais would be it. This lakeside stretch is the perfect place to stretch your legs and your senses: think gentle breezes, dazzling water reflections and flowerbeds that look like they were designed by a botanical artist with impeccable taste. If relaxation is more your style, take a seat at one of the stylish open-air cafes dotting the promenade.

Statue de Freddie Mercury

From the colorful blooms of the Promenade sur les quais, it’s just a casual 5-minute stroll to the Freddie Mercury Statue. You’ll know you’re close when the sound of the lake mixes with the unmistakable aura of a rock ‘n’ roll legend.

Standing proudly by the water’s edge, Freddie’s larger-than-life bronze figure captures his signature pose—arms wide open, as if inviting the whole world to join the party. It’s impossible not to smile here. Whether you’re a die-hard Queen fan or just someone who appreciates a bit of charisma and history, this statue feels like a personal encore from one of music’s greatest showmen.

Marché Couvert

From the Freddie Mercury Statue, take a relaxed 7-minute stroll through Montreux’s charming streets and you’ll find yourself at the Marché Couvert. This is the town’s vibrant indoor market and a true treasure trove for anyone curious about local life. But there is more to this spot, it is where Montreux’s culinary heart beats strongest. Marché Couvert brings together fresh fruits and vegetables harvested from nearby farms, wheels of Swiss cheese aged to perfection, fragrant herbs, and an array of artisanal breads that would make any carb lover swoon. The colors, smells, and sounds mix to reflect the region’s tradition.

Want a taste of the extraordinary? Look out for the Vaudois specialties. Imagine creamy Tomme cheese, cured meats and honey sourced from Alpine bees. If you’re feeling adventurous, grab some freshly picked chanterelle mushrooms or a handful of dried mountain herbs to bring home as souvenirs with a story. And it’s not just about food. The market also features stalls with handcrafted chocolates, fresh flowers and boutique products.

Afternoon: Jardins du Montreux Palace

After your flavorful adventure at the Marché Couvert, it’s time to swap food stalls for fountains. After a 10-minute walk along the lake, you will get to the Montreux Palace Gardens. And yes, it’s exactly as dreamy as it sounds.

Tucked just beside the legendary Fairmont Le Montreux Palace (no need to book a room to enjoy the view), this lush garden oasis feels like Montreux’s love letter to elegance and ease. Think palm trees swaying ever-so-slightly in the lake breeze. This is a prime spot for pressing pause. Find a bench shaded by centuries-old trees and just breathe. Watch boats glide across Lake Geneva. Listen to the light jazz playing from a nearby café. This is Montreux at its most cinematic.

Maison Visinand

Now lace up your shoes because we’re going uphill to the Musée de Montreux. This 16th-century beauty doesn’t just look the part with its historic facade; it lives and breathes culture.

The Musée de Montreux isn’t your typical “do not touch” history museum. It’s a compact yet compelling showcase of the town’s soul. Here, you’ll experience the Belle Epoque, the golden age of tourism and even the behind-the-scenes story of how a small lakeside town ended up hosting one of the world’s most iconic jazz festivals. You’ll find rare posters, vintage photographs, festival memorabilia and even quirky objects that once belonged to Montreux legends.

The museum takes a local-first approach, making it feel personal rather than preachy. You’re not just reading dates off a plaque, you’re time-traveling through the eyes of people who shaped the rhythm and reputation of this stylish Riviera town. Don’t skip the rotating exhibits, either.

Église Saint-Vincent

Yes, your calves will complain. But trust us, this one’s worth the workout. 7 minutes uphill and you’ll get to Église Saint-Vincent, Montreux’s oldest church and arguably its most soul-stirring stop (and not just because of the altitude).

Dating back to the 15th century, this Gothic gem was built on the bones of an 11th-century church and has witnessed everything from medieval masses to post-Reformation pivots. It was consecrated in 1524 and, just a decade later, took a sharp turn into Protestantism. The church’s namesake, Saint Vincent, just so happens to be the patron saint of winemakers. Because apparently, even the saints in Montreux have taste.

And then there’s the bell. Oh yes, the original Montreux chime, still ringing since 1473. It’s a small detail, but it makes standing inside Église Saint-Vincent feel less like visiting a building and more like stepping into a living, ringing, echoing piece of history. When you’ve soaked in enough holy Gothic ambiance, step outside to the church’s terrace. You’ll find panoramic views of Montreux and Lake Geneva that’ll make your camera gasp.

Evening: Casino Barrière Montreux

Now that you’ve had your fill of Gothic serenity at Église Saint-Vincent, it’s time to descend back into the glittering lakeside of Montreux for something wildly different. A 15-minute walk downhill will bring you to Casino Barrière Montreux.

Yes, it’s a casino—but not just a casino. This is where Deep Purple watched the place burn down and then wrote “Smoke on the Water.” Literally, they were here. Watching the stage burn with Frank Zappa performing. You can’t make that up.

Start your visit with a stroll through the Queen Studio Experience, a free museum tucked inside the casino itself. Once a recording studio used by Freddie Mercury and the band, it’s now a shrine to rock royalty. Here, you can get in the actual control room, peek at handwritten lyrics and yes, you can even stand at Freddie’s microphone and imagine what your voice might sound like on “Somebody to Love” (spoiler: probably not quite the same). After that musical moment, slide over to the gaming floor. If you’re feeling lucky, test your hand at blackjack, roulette or one of the many shimmering slot machines.

Theatre Montreux Riviera

Your last stop? Théâtre Montreux Riviera. This is a local legend in its own right. It dates back to 1826 and has played host to everything from French comedies and Swiss dramas to world-class music recitals and avant-garde productions that leave you pleasantly puzzled (and Googling on the way out).

The building itself is a gem. It is understated from the outside, but step through the doors and you're in a velvet-draped sanctuary of the arts. Think vintage ambiance meets modern acoustics. Even if you're not catching a show, the theater is worth a peek for its architecture alone. If you're lucky enough to snag a ticket while you're in town, do it. Shows often feature regional talent, touring European companies, and even festival tie-ins during summer. And if nothing’s on? No worries. Just standing in front of this place is a poetic way to end your first day in the city.

Day 1 - Montreux Tour Map

Day 2

Morning: Miles Davis Statue

Good morning, jazz lovers and even if you aren’t one (yet), you're about to meet a man who made musical history feel like electricity in the air. Just a 5-minute lakeside stroll west of the Freddie Mercury Statue leads you to another global icon cast in bronze: the Miles Davis Statue. This statue was erected in honor of the jazz legend’s unforgettable performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Davis performed here multiple times, including an iconic collaboration with Quincy Jones in 1991, just weeks before his passing. So yes, you’re standing in the exact place where jazz royalty once poured sound into the Swiss air. Miles didn’t just play Montreux. He helped define it. And now you’ve met the man who made cool timeless.

Rue du Pont

Walk inland, about 6 to 8 minutes tops, and you’ll find yourself on Rue du Pont. This is one of Montreux’s lesser-known but absolutely worth-the-wander streets.

This isn’t your glossy, lakeside postcard. Rue du Pont is what locals would call the everyday heart of Montreux. But don’t let that fool you, it’s a slice of authentic Riviera charm with a quiet confidence all its own. The street winds its way through a pocket of Montreux that feels like a local’s wink to visitors in the know. You’ll pass residential buildings with flower-box balconies and cafés that trade flashy menus for fresh croissants and overheard conversations in French, Italian, and the occasional jazz riff. Grab a seat outside one of the cafés (the espresso’s cheaper here, but just as good) and people-watch like a pro. If you’re feeling indulgent, pair it with a flaky pain au chocolat.

Rue du Temple

We’re street hopping again, this time to Rue du Temple. From Rue du Pont, it’s just a breezy 6-minute walk uphill. This walk is enough to feel like you're earning your next pastry, but not enough to break a sweat (unless you’re carrying three shopping bags from earlier stops, in which case: well done, you).

This isn’t the part of Montreux that screams for attention. No, Rue du Temple leans in close and speaks with that kind of quiet confidence only time can earn. The street gently curves past tidy facades and traditional Swiss townhouses. On your way there or back, you’ll spot the occasional atelier or artist’s nook. It’s a great place to snap some street photos with that crisp, European texture: shutters, iron railings and ivy climbing up timeworn walls.

Commune de Montreux

Another short walk will take you to the Commune de Montreux. Now, don’t expect a flashy tourist attraction here. The Commune building is more of a behind-the-scenes hero, housing Montreux’s local government and the people who keep this town running like clockwork (or like one of those precision Swiss watches, if you will). It’s where decisions on everything from festivals to public parks are made. Now, why stop here on your itinerary? Because understanding the Commune means appreciating the heartbeat that keeps Montreux ticking.

Afternoon: Passage de l’Auberge

After brushing shoulders with Montreux’s civic heartbeat at the Commune, it’s time to duck into something a little more tucked away. Just a short walk away, you’ll find the Passage de l’Auberge, a narrow, blink-and-you-miss-it alley that leads you straight into the town’s historic soul. It’s not a big space, but it delivers a big atmosphere. The passage connects some of the oldest parts of Montreux. This used to be a central route in the Old Town. It connected travelers and merchants who came through long before tourism became glamorous.

Église du Sacré-Cœur

Now we’re heading to one of  Montreux’s most graceful landmarks, the Église du Sacré-Cœur.

Built in the early 20th century, the Église du Sacré-Cœur wears its beauty with quiet confidence. Its creamy stone façade, elegant bell tower and warm-toned interior are a soft departure from Gothic drama. Step inside and you’ll find a space that feels open, peaceful and gently reverent. The architecture invites you to look up, breathe deeply, and be still for a moment. And while it's not always top of every tourist list, that's exactly what makes it feel special. There's no pressure here. No tickets. No lines. Just a church doing what churches have always done: offering quiet, calm and a place to pause.

Montreux, Escaliers de la Gare

Leaving the peaceful glow of Église du Sacré-Cœur behind, it’s time to swap serenity for a little cardio. Just a few minutes downhill and you’ll come face-to-face with one of Montreux’s most iconic and photogenic features. So get ready for the ‘Gram!

The Escaliers de la Gare are the famous connecting steps between the upper part of Montreux (where the train station perches like a clifftop watchtower) and the lakeside promenade below. Now, don’t let the word “stairs” scare you off. These aren’t just stairs, they’re a scene. A vertical slice of Montreux that somehow manages to feel like a movie set, a postcard and a music video backdrop all in one.

What makes them so special? A few things: first, the view. As you descend, you’re treated to an ever-widening panorama of terracotta rooftops. Second, the vibe. The stairs are wrapped in railings covered in local art and sometimes even bursts of greenery or surprise blooms. So take it step by step (literally). Snap the view.

Evening: Place du Marché

After a day of statues, steps, and sun-kissed streets, it's only right to let the evening wrap you in something magical. So we make our way to Place du Marché. During the day, it hums with market stalls and coffee-sippers, but as the sun slips behind the mountains, Place du Marché transforms. Grab a seat on a bench or claim a table at one of the cafés lining the square. From here, you’re in the heart of it all. Boats glide by, locals walk their dogs, and if you're lucky, a street performer might start playing something that makes you want to cancel your next appointment and stay another night.

2m2c - Montreux Music & Convention Centre

And now, for the curtain call of Day 2, 2m2c Montreux Music & Convention Centre. This is not just your average buttoned-up conference hall. No, 2m2c is where Montreux shows off its cool credentials. This is home turf for the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival, where the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, Prince and yes, Freddie, have left their musical fingerprints. Even if you’re not catching a concert tonight, the energy here is unmistakable. The center’s sleek architecture stands boldly against the lake.

And if you’re the type who likes to elevate every travel experience, keep an eye on their seasonal programming. Think world-class symphonies, experimental electronic nights, cultural galas and yes, VIP access if you’re feeling particularly fabulous.

Day 2 - Montreux Tour Map

Day 3

Morning: La Terrasse du Petit Palais

It’s your final day in Montreux and if we’re going out, we’re going out in style. No rushed pastries or last-minute packing panic. Instead, we’re elevating the morning (literally and figuratively) with a visit to La Terrasse du Petit Palais.

Perched within the Fairmont Montreux Palace complex but open to all who seek a view worth writing home about, this elegant terrace is where mornings come with a side of lake shimmer and alpine drama. You’ll want something strong and Swiss in your cup and maybe something buttery and baked within arm’s reach. It’s a morning for lounging. For gazing. For pretending you’re in a vintage film.

Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway Station

Now that you’ve soaked in your final lakeside breakfast like the Riviera royalty you are, it’s time to glide into the next phase of your day. A 10-minute walk will take you to the Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway Station or as the locals affectionately call it, MOB.

But this isn’t just any train station. No, no. This is Montreux’s golden ticket to adventure. From this station, you can catch the legendary GoldenPass Line. Imagine yourself on a panoramic journey that doesn’t just get you somewhere, it shows you somewhere. Sweeping vineyards, dramatic cliffside villages, and views that practically shout “Postcard!” at every turn.

Funiculaire Territet-Glion

You didn’t think we were done with iconic rail experiences, did you? Oh no. This is Montreux. So buckle up (well, metaphorically), because we’re off on another railway adventure. Now, we’re heading to Funiculaire Territet–Glion.

This is a charming little railway that’s been pulling off smooth ascents since 1883. Yes, this vintage funicular has been scaling the hillside for over a century, and it’s still one of the classiest ways to gain altitude in Switzerland. Once aboard, you’ll glide steeply (and surprisingly gracefully) up to Glion. The journey only takes about six minutes, but don’t blink because at the top, you’re rewarded with Glion’s peaceful charm.

Afternoon: Gorges du Chauderon

Buckle those (very chic) walking shoes, because your Montreux story is about to take a delightfully dramatic turn. You’re headed into the Gorges du Chauderon, Montreux’s untamed backyard. One moment you’re surrounded by lakeside cafés and jazz legends, the next you’re in a gorge that looks like something straight out of a fantasy film set. We’re talking moss-covered boulders, ancient stone bridges, steep limestone cliffs and a soundtrack of rushing water echoing off the canyon walls.

This isn’t a manicured garden stroll, it’s a lush, fern-filled adventure carved by the Chauderon River over thousands of years. Now for the luxury twist? Pack a gourmet picnic (local Gruyère, crusty bread, maybe some apricot jam?) and find a quiet spot along the trail to pause. You can hike as far as you like but even a short wander into the gorge offers a refreshing reset from the glitz below.

Territet’s Hillside Villas

After that wild little detour through Gorges du Chauderon, it’s time to reintroduce a little glam into your afternoon. So we’re heading back toward Territet, but this time not for trains, not for funiculars, but for a walk through the quietly magnificent hillside villas. This is a neighbourhood where luxury doesn’t shout.

These hillside villas are postcard-perfect relics of 19th-century affluence. This is where wealthy travellers from Paris, London, and Vienna once escaped for long summers and longer spa treatments. Their homes were built to impress, and even now, the details still stun. You’ll pass by curved stone staircases, overflowing gardens, pastel facades and palm trees leaning lazily over lake panoramas. Take your time here. Walk slowly. Let yourself imagine what life must’ve been like.

Stravinsky Statue

There’s so much music in Montreux and the Igor Stravinsky Statue is another must-visit. This is a striking bronze monument that captures the spirit of the composer in a dynamic, almost ethereal pose. It was unveiled in 2014 as a gift from Russia to Montreux. Designed by Russian sculptors Nikolai Kuznetsov and Natalia Mouromskaya, it portrays Stravinsky as if conducting an invisible orchestra. Stravinsky spent several years in the Lake Geneva region, seeking a favorable climate for his wife's health. During his time here, he composed several major works and the Congress Centre Auditorium bears his name in honor of his contributions to the arts in Montreux.

Evening: La Playa - Montreux Plage

As the evening sun casts its golden glow over Lake Geneva, it's time to unwind at La Playa – Montreux Plage, a chic beach club nestled along the shores of Montreux. The beach features a mix of sandy and rocky areas, with a grassy section providing ample space for relaxation. It's a popular spot for beach volleyball enthusiasts. There are also plenty of dining options nearby and they offer a range of cuisines to satisfy your palate.

Rochers-de-Naye

Why end your Montreux adventure with just a view when you can have the view? Say hello to Rochers-de-Naye.

This is Montreux’s towering mountain perch that’s basically the rooftop of the Swiss Riviera. To get here, you’ll climb through alpine forests and meadows. At the summit, it’s all about the wow factor. The sweeping vistas of Lake Geneva shimmering below, the Alps painting the horizon and Montreux itself nestled like a jewel on the shore.

As the day folds into night, the descent back down feels like a secret shared between you and the stars. This is the grand, breathtaking finale your Montreux journey deserves.

Day 3 - Montreux Tour Map

Other Things to Do in Montreux

So, you've jazzed it up at the Freddie Mercury statue, strolled the flower-lined promenade like you're in a music video, and caught a mountaintop sunset worthy of its own film score. But wait, Montreux has more. Here are some bonus stops that are well worth the detour.

  • Public Library De Montreux Veytaux: This lakeside sanctuary is perfect for those who are looking to brush up on Swiss history or just hide behind a novel with a view. Locals come here for calm, inspiration and surprisingly good free Wi-Fi. Visitors come for a breather between jazz walks and vineyard hopping.

  • Caux Palace: This is a fairy tale fortress on a mountain ledge. The Caux Palace is what happens when Belle’s enchanted castle meets Swiss hospitality. These days, it’s home to international peace-building conferences. Even if you’re not staying the night, just imagine yourself as an aristocrat who summered in the clouds. Yes, it’s that dreamy.

  • Quai des Fleurs: The Quai des Fleurs is an open-air runway lined with beds of tulips, roses, palms and the kind of floral drama that would make a botanist weep. It’s the kind of place where locals walk their dogs like they’re filming a perfume ad.

  • St. John's Anglican Church, Montreux: St. John’s Anglican Church isn’t just a place of worship; it’s a historic haven of music, community and 19th-century architecture that somehow makes you want to sing hymns and discuss poetry over tea. • Forum Montreux: Think of this as the city’s cultural utility belt. It is —part theatre, part expo hall and part event chameleon. If something cool is happening in Montreux, chances are it’s unfolding right here. Located steps from the lake, it’s also an excellent place to people-watch between events.

Come here for a tasting and leave with a bottle (or six) in your bag.

This is wine country on a cinematic level. Bring your camera.

Michelin-Starred Restaurants in Montreux

Let’s set the record straight: Montreux isn’t littered with Michelin stars like confetti after jazz fest, there’s just one. But oh, what a star it is. And honestly, when the dining experience is this exquisite, who needs a whole constellation? So if you’re the kind of traveler who’s in pursuit of culinary fireworks, then buckle up. We’re about to introduce you to the Michelin-starred treasure of Montreux.

  • Stéphane Décotterd: Set high above Montreux in the charming village of Glion, this restaurant is part of the Bellevue Hotel.Chef Stéphane Décotterd doesn’t just cook, he composes. His menu is an ode to the Swiss terroir, passionately local and seasonally obsessed. You won’t find foie gras flown in from France or lobsters jet-lagged from overseas. Instead, expect dishes like dry-aged duck glazed in wine vinegar. Everything is rooted in a zero-waste and hyper-local philosophy. Local vintages from Lavaux pair perfectly with the courses, letting you drink in the region as elegantly as you’re eating it. But this restaurant is not just about the food, there’s also the view. Imagine yourself dining in front of windows that look out over Lake Geneva and the Alps. The setting is so stunning that it makes your meal feel like a movie scene.

Let’s play a game: you’re in Montreux, your camera roll is full, your heart is light, but your stomach? Growling like an Alpine bear. Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Whether you’re craving a gourmet affair, a juicy burger or a Sunday brunch so good it deserves its own fan club, Montreux has your cravings covered.

  • Inglewood Montreux: Let’s start with the burger that dreams and cheat days are made of. Inglewood is not your average patty shack. Think locally sourced Swiss beef, homemade buns and bold, unapologetic flavors. But this is not just about the burgers, they know their desserts too. Try out their cheesecakes and cookie sandwiches.

  • Restaurant La Table de Montreux: Welcome to an edible love letter to seasonal Swiss cuisine. La Table takes the farm-to-fork concept seriously, turning humble ingredients into gourmet masterpieces. Try the grass-crusted rack of lamb with thyme sauce or the sea bass fillets. The wine list? Basically a tour of the Lavaux vineyards in a bottle.

  • Chez Gaston: Step into Chez Gaston and you’ll feel like you’ve walked into the cozy dining room of a very talented French uncle. The menu is rustic yet refined. Think tuna tataki on crispy rice and a whole lot of salad options too. With warm lighting, vintage art and staff who genuinely love food, it’s French comfort with a side of charm.

  • La Corsa Al Cilento: Montreux meets the Amalfi Coast at this sun-soaked Italian gem. La Corsa Al Cilento is a love song to southern Italy with pastas that taste like Nonna made them herself. This restaurant will truly make anyone feel like they are on a holiday in Southern Italy.

  • Pizzeria Ristorante Molino: When your heart says Switzerland but your stomach says Napoli, head to Molino. Wood-fired pizzas with bubbly crusts, fresh basil, and mozzarella that stretches for days. Bonus: views of the lake to make your dinner extra dreamy.

  • Le Safran: Located within the Mona Montreux Hotel, Le Safran blends Mediterranean finesse with Swiss elegance. The menu is polished but playful, with standouts like king prawns with saffron and roasted veal tenderloin with a cream of morels. Pair your meal with a crisp local white wine and gaze out over Lake Geneva like the classy food connoisseur you are.

  • Brunch du Dimanche: Sundays in Montreux aren’t for sleeping in, they’re for feasting like royalty at the Fairmont’s legendary brunch. This isn’t brunch, it’s an experience. Oysters, eggs benedict, carving stations, pancakes with more toppings than your brain can compute. Dress your best, arrive hungry, and prepare to stay awhile.

Where to Drink in Montreux

When the day winds down and the jazz kicks up, Montreux shifts from “postcard pretty” to “pour another, please.” Whether you're into barrel-aged beauty, cocktails with a twist, this city pours it all. Here’s your toast-worthy tour of Montreux’s best clubs and bars. Because you didn’t come all the way to the Swiss Riviera to stay sober.

  • Le Taboo: Don’t let the name fool you, there’s nothing forbidden about indulging here. Le Taboo is where Montreux’s cool crowd goes to sip, sway and repeat. With plush seating, moody lighting, and DJs spinning tracks that make you forget what time it is.

  • Why Montreux: Why? Because good vibes, lakeside views, and craft cocktails never go out of style. This modern bar-slash-bistro is a total mood: chic yet laid-back, stylish without the snobbery. It’s the kind of place where you come for the espresso martini and stay for the unexpected deep chat with a local jazz saxophonist.

  • Barrel Oak: If you like your wine with a side of ambiance and your whiskey with wisdom, Barrel Oak is your spirit animal. This stylish bar specializes in boutique wines and well-aged whiskies. It’s rustic meets refined. Imagine yourself walking into a bar with exposed wood, mood lighting, and bartenders who know the difference between smoky and peaty without breaking a sweat.

  • Le Millesime Club: Champagne taste? You’ve found your match. Le Millesime is where Montreux gets its sparkle on. This upscale wine and champagne bar is all about the terroir talk and the pop of the cork. Classy, intimate and a little bougie (in the best way), it’s the kind of place you toast to a night that’s going very, very right — and it’s located within the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.

  • Funky Claude’s Bar: Named after Claude Nobs, the legendary founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, this bar is a full-on tribute to groove, glamour, and great drinks. This is located inside the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace. Expect live jazz, next-level bar bites and cocktails that sing. This is truly where music history meets mixology.

Best time to visit Montreux

Montreux is the stage where legends like Freddie Mercury and Miles Davis left their marks, and where summer rolls in like the ultimate encore. If you want to catch Montreux in full, radiant swing, then summer’s your standing ovation. Imagine yourself enjoying the best of Montreux: music festivals, sunny promenades, and lakeside lounging.

From June to August, Montreux basks in glorious sunshine, warm temperatures and the kind of energy that only a world-famous music festival can generate. Nothing will beat the sparkling Lake Geneva shimmering under blue skies, vibrant flowerbeds along the promenade and live jazz or rock riffs drifting through the air like an irresistible invitation. That’s summer here, a nonstop celebration that even the Alps want to join.

The party just does not stop during the summer. Montreux’s crown jewel? The Montreux Jazz Festival. It’s not just a festival; it’s a cultural phenomenon that transforms the town into a global stage for the best musicians. Whether you’re swaying to smooth saxophones or headbanging to electric guitars, there’s an undeniable magic in the summer air that simply can’t be bottled. But summer isn’t just about music. It’s prime time for lakeside lounging, hiking in the nearby vineyards of Lavaux, and savoring alfresco dining while soaking in views that have inspired artists and dreamers for centuries.

We understand that winter also has its charm. Just imagine the views of snow-capped mountains and cozy firesides. But summer is Montreux’s headline act. So pack your sunnies and your best festival vibes.
