Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the best time of year to take the Austrian Alps, Lakes, Mountains and Alpine Villages tour?

Late spring through early autumn is ideal for this itinerary, when the lakes, mountain villages and Alpine landscapes are at their best. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is seasonal, so the exact itinerary may be adapted if it is not open.

  • How physically demanding is this Austria itinerary?

The tour is designed at a comfortable pace and does not require strenuous hiking. There are walking tours, gentle countryside walks and time at mountain viewpoints, but activities can be adjusted to suit your preferred level of mobility.

  • Is this tour suitable for travellers who prefer a slower pace?

Yes. The itinerary uses only three hotel bases over nine nights and includes a balance of guided sightseeing, scenic journeys and free time, making it well suited to travellers who prefer not to change hotels every day.

  • What type of clothing and footwear should I pack for the Austrian Alps?

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, together with layers suitable for changing mountain temperatures. Even in warmer months, a light waterproof jacket and an additional warm layer are useful for higher-altitude excursions.

  • Can the itinerary be adapted if the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is closed?

Yes. As the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is seasonal and weather dependent, Revigorate can arrange an alternative Alpine experience if the road is unavailable during your travel dates.

  • Is this tour suitable for couples, families or small private groups?

Yes. This private itinerary can work well for couples, families and small private groups, with sightseeing, transfers and activities adapted where necessary to suit the travellers.

  • Can extra nights or additional destinations be added before or after the tour?

Yes. Additional nights can be added in Salzburg, Innsbruck or elsewhere in Austria, and the journey can also be combined with neighbouring destinations such as Munich or other parts of Central Europe.

  • Why book this Austria tour with Revigorate?

Revigorate creates tailor-made private journeys designed around your interests, preferred pace and travel style. We combine carefully selected hotels, private transfers, knowledgeable local guides and personal itinerary planning to create a seamless Austrian holiday.
